What a way to start the season in the National League! Four goals 🏑🎉 One card 🟩
With Gary and Duney setting the standards high for our first game back, we arrived super early. For some, this was a struggle, as certain individuals need as much beauty sleep as possible 😴, but thankfully we all made it (and with no hangovers in sight) 🍻✅
Despite our early arrival, our warm-up was short and snappy, followed by a quick motivational team talk from Duney 👩✈️
The game started strong, with the first goal scored just 1 minute and 37 seconds in, thanks to a lovely pass from Maddie to Fluff 💃
Six minutes later, Fluff made an excellent run up the pitch 🏃♀️ and a quick 1-2 pass with Sam, before Fluff deflected the ball to score our second goal.
2-0 up already!!!!! 😆🙌🥳
The second quarter was pretty steady, with the only real action being Sam receiving a green card 🟩🤦🏼♀️😖 7 minutes in. However, despite being a player down, the defense looked strong, moving the ball around the back, making the two minutes with a player down look effortless 💪🏼
Into the third quarter we went, we saw some great attacking and defending from both sides. Highlights included Leah saving the ball on the line 👸 a phenomenal strike from Charlotte 🥰 from a PC, making it 3-0.
Into the final quarter (don’t worry, I’m nearly done- we’ll leave the talking to H). Although a little tired 😴, we still came out fighting 💪🏼 With Judy’s grunts and Jen not realising 16s had been taken, Fluff showed us how to play with her super-fast pace 🏃♀️ and silky skills 🫶 to make it 4-0. Annoyingly, despite our hopes for a clean sheet, Trojans scored in the fifteenth minute of the quarter, making it 4-1.
Big shoutouts go to everyone who came and supported us 🖤💛🖤, Lucy for her managerial skills (keeping us all in line and sorting out the opposition with their teas), the Dean Close girls who left our game and headed straight to Bristol Grammar School to win 3-1 💙🩷, finally Gary for all his continued hard work.
DoD: Sam 🤦🏼♀️
MoM: Fluff 🥳
