Being eager beavers to follow up on last week’s clean sheet led to some hasty decisions in the opening 10 minutes. BUT. Also being the legends that we are, we kept our cool and quickly settled into the game.
Despite the OB’s keeper relentlessly stopping our outfield attempts, El Captin Liv Lowry stepped up to open the scoring with a goal from a short corner.
With that as a pick me up, our defence was dogged, keeping the opposition’s chances to a minimum. This meant by the end of the game, Meg had actually put more effort into picking herself off the floor after she fell over pre-warm up than having to keeping OB’s of the scoreboard.
Despite the early rush of adrenaline, we stayed composed, kept our cool and maintained discipline creating an opportunity for Laura Kedge to score from another short corner.
As people got tired across the board, it was time to dig deep and as told by Rich at half time, stay calm and keep our heads.
With frantic moments of play all over the pitch, we showcased a real collective effort to maintain our lead and stay calm. BT added the final touch, getting a deflection from another short corner to put us up 3-0.
Overall, a strong effort and disciplined performance, resulting in a well-deserved win.
Player: Lauren
DOD: Originally Meg for falling over. Actually me (Gee) for getting my first green card upgraded to a yellow for not keeping my cool.
