Men’s 1s travelled to City of Bath today with some questionable driving from our captain stalling most of the way there causing him to be 12 minutes late…
The game started off with a hospital pass by myself to Richard which caused us to be under the cosh for the first 15 mins of the game. However as a team we defended this really well and kept it at 0-0.
A few breaks from us gave us a good chance from Richard Owen, however he hit the post. Then not too long after this, City of Bath got a counter attack which they scored from.
This did not deter us from going again!
Right towards the end of the first half we managed a great chance on goal with an excellent save from their defender (using his chest on the goal line). This resulted in a free hit to us, outisde the D….
Half time came and after a great team chat and some pointers from Richard, to adjust our press, we came out into the second half with a better understanding and more control of the game! This helped us to break and win a short corner, where Ed Blogg stepped up and performed a beautiful placed drag flicked bottom left to secure a goal. Exactly what he told us he would do, before the game!
Not much more happened in the game. Except, a talking to for me being “too happy for winning a short corner”….
But in the end, the score was 1-1. This result has kept us at the top of the league where we belong
