A successful outing this morning at Oxtalls Sports Centre (Plock Court) for our talented U16 squad, playing their first two games in the West U16 Tier 2 League against Wotton-U-Edge & Glos City. With a large number of the girls now playing Adult Hockey, it was great to the girls playing together back as an age group. First up we beat Glos City 5–0 with goals from Holly Tow-Stevenson (2), Bethany Custard, Scarlett Dunleavy and Erin Pryce. Wotton voted player of the match to Niamh Thompson. Secondly, we then went on to beat Wotton 3-0 with goals from Scarlett Dunleavy, Niamh Thompson and Izzy Voyce. Glos City voted player of the match to Scarlett Dunleavy.
Lansdown were the standout team through the morning with a strong defence of: Isabel Cheyne, Olivia Mourton, Zara Collins & Livvy Godding [GK], a dynamic midfield of: Niamh Thompson (Captain), Isabelle Voyce, Daisy Reid & Bethany Custard and a forward line full of energy made up of: Holly Tow-Stevenson, Scarlett Dunleavy, Caitlin Brazier, Zara Ristic & Erin Pryce. Lead Coach SJ and her sidekick brother Ant were both really impressed with how cohesive they were as a team, despite the lack of playing time and training together so early in the season. Watch this space for more to come from this squad!
