Only thing we need to say is that we scored our first goal of the season!
The sun was shining on the sandy Brockworth pitch on a lovely Saturday morning. The men’s 1s started the day off well with a 4-1 win on home turf.
We started off strong (even though I managed to loose the toss), taking on coach Lucie’s words of wisdom. Triangles! Unfortunately the other team started off strong too but just couldn’t get it past the expertise of Sophia in goal after several attempts. Our strong defence held the opposition off but after relentless pressure we went 0-1 down quickly followed by another goal to take it to 0-2.

Kept our heads up heading into the second half full of team spirit, words of wisdom and, of course, haribo. Helpfully, in the second half I spent more time on the floor than on my feet so now have most of Brockworth’s sand in my shoes.
Much to our disappointment, the oppo managed to sneak another cheeky goal past us to take the score line to 0-3.
Great link up play from defence to mids to forwards and then…a lovely strike from Rosie who hit the backboard causing the rest of the team and the sideline to jump in the air and cheering so loudly the men’s 1s could hear us from the rugby club.
Lovely play from everyone on the pitch and a shout out to Sophia for stepping up to play in goal for us and she absolutely smashed it out the park and for that she was awarded MOM, very well deserved. Lionel this week went to Sarah for amazing play in mid and up front. Great play all round.
