Match report written by DotD, edited by Ed B:
After two pretty average performances on the road the team needed to get back to winning ways at home, and win we did.
A fast start saw Bloggy win and score a short corner in the first minute, and we gained the early momentum. Chances flowed but we couldn’t get a second, following multiple opportunities.
However, as the half progressed Swindon took control of possession and territory and we were struggling to get out. The team defended well and kept out numerous attacks and short corners but eventually they won a dead certain flick- Conor saving a shot on the line with his chest! The flick was hard and low to Nick’s left, he got a glove to it but couldnt keep it out, 1-1.
Second half started much like the first, Jake scoring quickly to make it 2-1, they then equalised from a well worked short. With about 15 minutes to go lansdown found a new gear and played some good hockey. Pressure in the D led to the ball bouncing up high and Will slammed home an overhead volley. Quickly followed by a fourth goal for the team by Alex.
As the game drifted to a finish we won a short as the final whistle went. The trusty straight strike from Jake proved successful and result finished 5-2.
MotM – Tom R (solid performance as first game at centre back)
Champagne – Alex D (first goal for LHC M1!!!). Very well deserved, was an accomplished finish – must have learnt it at TA.
Honourable mention to Will Storey (smashing in it from way above his head, a miraculous volley).
DotD – Luke A (despite a good game creating multiple clear goalscoring opportunities, electing to pass to their keeper lying on the floor, or to the post every time).
