MOM & DOD: Shared amongst the teams
This week…so we win again!
We were thin on the ground this week, an injury doubt (Jonathan) so had to ask a few amongst the 3’s so fill up two slots to get the team to 12. Then we had a late comer so 13 late afternoon in Stroud.
Then it all got a bit fraught, Chris messed up timings with his umpiring, so we had to swap Barney for Chris in the M3s, then fortunately I was dropping Martha off for the W6 match and was able to pick Chris up who had another player pickup his kit from home.
It was a really good game of hockey. First change the team setup as we had 2 speedy wingers, young Tobias and the French express Guillaume and we all expected great thing! Chris for all the pre-match fuss, dropped into the mid-field screen and we started really well, with Guillaume putting us ahead about 12 minutes, 0-1. Stroud equalised 1-1, took this opportunity to sub with Jonathan who lasted 3 minutes before hamstring failed, so we were back down to 12. Guillaume score another, to make it 1-2.
Half time was playing OK, but need to pass more and build the play.
Chris scored a short to make it 1-3 before Stroud scored 2 goals and looked threatening going forward but so did we and Joey – senior debut last week, scored or winner! Will came close with a nutmeg through the keeper to hit the post!
We still need to find that passing game we had last season however we won and that makes it all better!
MOM: Joseph, Guillaume, Shaun & Ethan all got a vote!
DOD: Chris Lait, for poor organisational skills, although he played really well and scored a goal!
